Our litigators have extensive experience in representing both private entities and individuals in trials and appeals in federal and state courts, and in arbitration hearings and mediation proceedings. Our lawyers are also experienced in representing clients and serving as expert witnesses in administrative proceedings and hearings before federal, state and local agencies. The subject matters of disputes we handle are highly varied. They include real property disputes, commercial contract disputes, employment disputes, surety actions, personal injury claims, securities fraud, consumer protection issues, unfair competition cases, homeowner's association disputes, and construction cases.
The firm's environmental practice includes the representation of sellers, buyers, landowners, and lenders in various business and real estate transactions that involve environmental issues, including entities owning or controlling multiple sites. With regard to real estate transactions, the scope of our environmental practice encompasses hazardous waste regulatory matters, wetland permitting, and threatened and endangered species studies. We also provide full environmental representation for industrial, manufacturing, petroleum, agricultural and commercial businesses. Our services include legal assistance in connection with environmental site assessments and compliance audits, enforcement defense, federal Superfund, storage tank and dry cleaner site regulation, remediation, reimbursement, solid and hazardous waste permitting and compliance, environmental insurance, air and water emissions, permitting and compliance, and health and safety.
In the governmental relations area, we represent businesses seeking selection by a government agency through requests for proposal (RFP) and other competitive bidding processes, which representation includes disputes which arise from such selection processes. The firm also represents companies that are seeking economic incentives from state and local agencies in connection with corporate relocation and job creation programs. In addition, we have experience in Florida local government law and have represented both governmental and private clients in connection with the negotiation and preparation of complex agreements involving the construction of infrastructure and various other matters.
In the corporate area, we represent a diverse range of parties in merger and acquisition transactions, including sellers, buyers, shareholders, and financial intermediaries. That diversity of representation also applies to our services in the product and service distribution channels, where we represent manufacturers, developers, suppliers, processors, value added resellers, and distributors. In both the securities offering arena of publicly held companies and those which are closely held, as well as in compliance matters, we represent issuers, underwriters, broker-dealers and investors.
In the securities area and in other financial services industries, we assist in licensing applications and compliance matters (including SEC and state broker-dealer and investment advisor registrations, mortgage banking and brokerage licenses, insurance licenses, and check cashing and money order transmitting licenses).
We provide contract drafting and negotiation services in an extensive array of commercial transactions. We also are experienced in providing legal services related to corporate governance and non-profit corporation activities and tax exempt status.
